For me, art is an act of rebellion against impermanence.

Why do I create commissioned art?

The short answer:

Life is incredibly fragile and fleeting. I want to help others embrace the moments that matter.

The long answer:

People say, “everything can change in an instant.” If you have lived through trauma, you know this to be true. Though, change is not always sudden. Most often, it arrives gradually - quiet, subtle, and inevitable. Whether it crashes through the door or leaves a voicemail, it reshapes your reality.

While we can’t outrun change, we can choose to feel deeply, be fully present, and hold on to what matters. For me, art is an act of rebellion against impermanence. It presses pause on a time, place, face, or feeling.

Many of my pieces are meant to commemorate life’s occasions - big and small. Through commissioned work, I help others memorialize their deeply personal, yet universally human experiences.

    • wedding or elopement — now booking LIVE painting for F/W 2025

    • the sale or purchase of a family home

    • celebration of life

    • vacation

    • launch of a business or campaign

    • anniversary

    • birthday

    • pregnancy

    • [beginning, middle, or end of an era]

    • Routines or rituals — Do you take your coffee black and on the way to the shower or do you sip tea in a cozy chair before journaling? Do you and your partner cuddle before tackling the day or are morning cuddles reserved for your dog or cat?

    • A time and place that altered your perspective — Where were you when you realized you needed to break up with that guy? Or when you decided to reach out to an old friend? Or when you met someone who changed your life? Or when you realized you were or weren’t invincible?

    • Favorite spot — Where do you unwind? Where is your reset button? Is it a hike, a local coffee shop, a bar, or body of water?

    • Bodily changes — Whether you’re feeling stronger than ever or struggling to get comfy in your own skin after lifestyle or hormonal shifts, seeing yourself in paint somehow makes you feel more regal than ever. When the body becomes art, the expectations and shame melt away.

    • Messes — Hear me out. When your kids (or fur babies) leave a treasure map of muddy footprints, take a reference photo. When you accidentally overflow the tub, take a reference photo. When you’re baking holiday cookies and flour is EVERYWHERE, take a reference photo.

What to Commission

Some of us know exactly what we want. Others need to discover it. This is why every project begins with a co-discovery call, a chance — for both of us — to unearth the why behind the piece. This conversation informs both the concept and its details, transforming reference images into something far more personal: a storyscape, or layered narrative.

Commissioned works have included, but are never limited to figure paintings, landscapes, portraits, still lifes, surrealist scenes, and beloved pets or wildlife.

Process and Timeline

  • In a brief call, we will discuss the specifics of your vision (timeline, budget, sizing, subject, color scheme, etc.). Here, we will also determine whether you are happy with your own reference images or would like to schedule a photoshoot.

If you’re ready to get started, please fill out this questionnaire.

  • After we establish a plan for the project, I will send you an agreement which reiterates the process, details payment terms, allows you to choose your preferred shipping method, etc.

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to start work on the piece.

  • After the deposit is paid, I will begin work on your painting.

A typical sketch-to-wrapping timeline is about 4-6 weeks, although this is largely dependent on the size and complexity of the piece.

*To expedite the process, a 30% rush fee applies.

  • Before shipping the painting, the client has an opportunity to request a maximum of 2 reasonable revisions at no cost.

*If requested, additional revisions will be quoted based on scope and complexity.

  • Once the piece is finished and ready for delivery, I will invoice you for the remaining balance.

  • Once the invoice is paid in full, I will either ship or personally deliver the painting.

Price of Commissioned Art

In my life and my work, transparency is key. This is why I price commissioned artworks using a predictable structure. I want you to understand the variables that influence the final price, so we can fit your ideas within your budget.

  • Not everyone has the perfect reference photo - and that’s okay. With experience in planning, directing, and styling photoshoots, I am equipped and eager to create high-resolution reference images to inform our process. See photography samples here.

    Subject(s) only = $200 + travel

    Landscape only = $200 + travel

    Styled backdrop & subject(s) = $500 + travel

    Keep in mind. . .

    • the higher the resolution of the reference photo(s), the more detailed the final result.

    • if you are going to use or want to use a professional photo taken by a paid photographer, please obtain their explicit permission to use their photo as a reference. I am happy to collaborate with them on social, helping to promote their work.

    • travel fees only apply to shoots that require the artist to travel more than 100 mi to the shoot location

  • Until the end of 2025, commissioned pieces will start at $3/square inch. (Price can vary depending on level of realism, quantity of subjects, etc.)

Prices below do not include the cost of shipping nor prints.

    12” x 16” = $576

    24” x 30” = $2,160

    36” x 48” = $5,184

    48” x 60” = $8,640

    60” x 60” = $10,800

    60” x 84” = $15,120

  • Prior to shipping, the client will have an opportunity to request revisions. The first two revisions are free. Additional revisions will be quoted based on scope and complexity.

  • If the commissioner wants the artist to expedite the timeline, a 30% rush fee applies.

e.g. If the artist tells the commissioner that the commission will take 4-6 weeks to complete and the commissioner requests it to be finished in 2-3 weeks, a rush fee applies. The commissioner’s invoice will include a rush fee amounting to 30% of the painting’s price.

  • The cost of shipping depends on the size and weight of the piece, materials required for safe transport, and your preferred carrier. Smaller pieces can range from $25-250. Pieces with sides as large as or larger than 48” can be $500+ to ship.

If you would prefer an in-person delivery, travel and accommodation expenses apply.

  • Often, clients wish to share their pieces with friends and family. Prints are available for purchase upon request. Pricing depends on size and material (canvas, card stock, paper glicee, metal, etc.).

*Requests for prints need to be made prior to shipping the original. This may delay delivery of the original painting by 1-2 business days.
